Canned tuna giant StarKist will shut down operations at its American Samoa plant during the week starting Oct. 10 due to a lack of fish, reports Radio New Zealand.
It is the second time this year the company has had to halt operations due to fish supply issues related to recent closures in the US exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and other fishing grounds traditionally big for US fleets, said Michelle Faist, spokesperson for StarKist Samoa.
