Alfocan -- which won the best foodservice product at the Seafood Prix d'Elite awards at the Brussels seafood show this year – is looking to set up a crayfish processing plant in a “developing” country, Managing Director Erwin Alderlieste told IntraFish.
“In 2010, we will set up a plant in a developing country. The idea is to replace what we buy from China,” said Alderlieste.
This €1.5 million ($2.2 million) project has been going on for five years, as Alderlieste researched locations which would produce the kind of high-quality product the company is known for.
