During the boom years, before the global financial crisis, companies were flush with cash, and everybody was happy scratching each other's backs, emboldened by the carefree lending of banks. The seafood industry was no exception.

The situation is dramatically different now, with businesses across Europe shutting down due to the credit crunch.
