Norwegian Atlantic salmon prices are starting the New Year on a high note, reaching levels above NOK 60 (€6.20/$6.80) for some sizes.
Industry players IntraFish talked to this Wednesday said prices varied widely depending on markets, with exports to the European processing industry fetching lower prices.
One exporter said average prices in Oslo will end up at around NOK 57 (€5.90/$6.50) to NOK 58 (€6/$6.60) per kilogram. This is about NOK 12 (€1.20/$1.40) to NOK 13 (€1.40/$1.50) above prices seen in the first week of 2015.
