In a time that the fishing industry continues to struggle to survive (when has it not?), it would seem fishermen, skippers, ex-boat owners, and their families are finding an outlet to recall happier times through the Fishing News group on social interactive website Facebook.
Although somewhat dormant for many months until revamped two weeks ago, the Fishing News group has become a busy network site for everyone associated with the fishing industry – not just in the UK and Ireland – but across Europe and beyond.
Membership has shot up from a mere dozen members to over 250 in the last ten days as word spreads of the many fishing related photos and video clips -- 430 at last count -- which have been posted by fishermen and vessel owners.
