IntraFish recently conducted a study on the accounts of more than 120 Norwegian salmon and smolt producers, ranking them according to operating profit.

Nordlaks, with an operating margin of 16.1 percent, was best among the companies with more than NOK 150 million (€18.5 million/$25.3 million) in turnover for 2012.

Among the biggest companies, the ranking also showed only companies from Nord-Trondelag and further north achieved operating profits that increased by more than 10 percent from last year.

One reason for Nordlaks topping the list was that last year the company reaped financial gain from the sale of two production licenses, as was stated in Nordlaks Opdrett’s annual report.
