In its report for 2009, Skretting's Netherlands-based parent company, Nutreco, said the group is keen to grow in fish feed.

Knut Nesse, executive vice president of Nutreco's aquaculture division, outlined the company’s plans for growth.

“We were relatively clear in the latest report about growing in new markets, and we have singled out China and Vietnam as regions for investment. Our ambition is to penetrate these markets, and we intend to employ resources to achieve this,” Nesse told IntraFish.

For Skretting’s part, three groups stand out as the most interesting candidates in relation to feed production in China and Vietnam: feed for shrimp, pangasius and marine species.
