The new plant will be ready for production in October and will be one of “Europe’s most efficient pelagic production plants,” Skagerak said in an announcement on its website.
In the same statement Skagerak’s long-term CEO Iver Espersen said he was handing over control to a new management team led by Peter Kongerslev as managing director, Kim Bennedsen as finance director and Christian Espersen as sales and marketing director. Iver Espersen will continue as chairman.
Thanks to the factory, Skagerak will be able to expand its production for its key products - fresh, frozen and marinated products – “quite considerably,” it said.
