Silver Bay Seafoods purchases majority of Sitka site

Alaska processor Silver Bay Seafoods bought most of the land at the Gary Paxton Industrial Park sold by the City of Sitka for a total price tag of about $960,000 (€850,584).

The sale was approved by the city assembly Tuesday 6-1 and may be the first of several sales, according to a local radio station.

Although it was not on the agenda, Silver Bay is also seeking much of the park's remaining waterfront to build a marine services center, according to radio station KCAW.
