With the Bristol Bay sockeye season set to kick off in the next week, two new processors are hoping to make their marks.

Silver Bay Seafood, which is aiming to harvest 18 percent of the driftnet haul in Bristol Bay during its first season, told fishermen leaving the bay recently it will "meet or exceed the highest ex-vessel grounds price" from competitors, including Trident, Alaska General Seafoods (AGS), North Pacific Seafoods, and Ocean Beauty, Janis Harsila, manager of the Alaska Independent Fishermen’s Marketing Association (AIFMA) told IntraFish.
