The Gardena, Calif., company initiated the voluntary recall after discovering a seafood-flavored powder used in the products contained undeclared cod and lobster, posing a health risk to people with have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cod or lobster.
The recalled products were sold under the names Nissin Original Chow Mein Shrimp and Nissin Cup Noodles Shrimp.
Nissin Cup Noodles Shrimp also was sold through Wal-Mart stores under the label "Great Value Instant Shrimp;" at Winn Dixie stores under the label "Thrifty Maid with Shrimp Oriental Noodles with Vegetables;" and at Aldi grocery stores under the label "Jehling Ramen Noodle Soup Cup with Shrimp and Vegetables."
