“It’s no coincidence that many of the new players in the business have made a hefty profit in the tanker market recently,” Fjord Seafood shareholder Ulltveit-Moe said at a conference last week in Oslo held by brokerage First Securities. “The future does not belong to the biggest or the strongest, but those that can adapt the quickest. That’s why the dinosaurs are no longer the dominant species."
Ulltveit-Moe said, as with tanker shipping, salmon farming is subject to the so-called "pig cycle."
