Shell-on wild shrimp prices going strong

Prices of shell-on coldwater shrimp are strong and slightly up for April and May, but small sizes might be easing in price, industry players told IntraFish.

Forecasts by the Russian Union of Seafood Processors issued in early April (see chart below) say prices for Canadian cooked, head-on, shell-on (CHOSO) shrimp of 120+ are estimated at €3.20 ($4.20) to €3.50 ($4.60) for April and May, ex works (EXW).

For shrimp of 90+, the union estimates prices at €3.50 to €3.85 ($5.06).

Three industry players from Canada and Russia told IntraFish these were the ranges that they were seeing as well for those sizes.
