Seabass from Selonda UK, based in Wales, will appear in 197 Waitrose stores in a value-added format: headless, gutted and stuffed with fennel butter.
A whole fish product will launch onto the fish counters of 37 regional Waitrose branches.
“The deal is open-ended, as with any retailer, but initial sales estimates look very promising,” said Robert Smith, managing director Selonda Non-Hellenic Subsidiaries.
“The provenance and freshness is coming over extremely well with buyers, and we’re now looking at the branding side and how to take that forward.”
