Aotearoa Fisheries, which manages more than NZD 530 million (€333.2 million/$413.3 million) of fisheries assets for its iwi shareholders, returned to profit in the 2014 financial, the company said in a statement.

The Auckland-based firm reported a profit of NZD 21.9 million (€13.8 million/$17.1 million) in the 12 months ended Sept. 30, turning around a loss of NZD 6 million (€3.8 million/$4.7 million) a year earlier.

That was largely due to a NZD 12.7 million (€8 million/$9.9 million) contribution from Sealord, which Aotearoa Fisheries jointly owns with Japan's Nippon Suisan Kaisha.
