The value of seafood sales at retail for the year ended Jan. 3 saw a slight decrease, dropping to £3.1 billion (€4.2 billion/$4.7 billion), down 0.4 percent from the previous year when sales were £3.2 billion (€4.3 billion/$4.9 billion), according to the latest Nielsen statistics.
Volume of sales also took a hit, falling to 335,500 metric tons, down 4.5 percent from the previous year.
