Supermarkets always have been the crucial link between consumers and eco-labels, the place where shoppers for the first time come in contact with certification schemes such as the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
Yet there is something inherently wrong with that setup, as the vast majority of shoppers – even eco-minded ones – don’t have the time or energy to absorb a new environmental message while they rush through the aisles.
