Figures from week 10 show there are twice as many lice in Norwegian salmon cages this year compared to the corresponding week last year.
By the end of February, about 2.2 lice were cultivating each salmon in Norwegian farms, up from 1.1 lice per fish last year, according to figures from 500 localities.
The overview on lusedata.no also shows it is significantly warmer in the sea now, with 5 degrees Celsius compared to an average of 2.5 degrees Celsius in the corresponding week last year.
