Sea Harvest ploughs €9.2 million into P&P freezer trawler

South African company Sea Harvest recently acquired a new freezer trawler -- the Atlantic Peace -- from Dutch seafood giant Parlevliet & Van der Plas (P&P), as part of its belief in the growing potential of the global frozen-at-sea market.

The vessel, including purchase and refitting of the on-board factory, came to a total cost of ZAR 130 million ($12 million/ €9.2 million).

Konrad Geldenhuys, marketing director at Sea Harvest, told IntraFish the group has been eyeing adding a new freezer trawler to its fleet for "some time."
