“I can’t remember the weather ever being so constantly bad for fish farmers in Scotland as these past two months, and as you can imagine, weather like this has an effect on production,” Dale Hill, Pan Fish Scotland’s head of production and quality assurance, told IntraFish.
Hill’s comments followed another another battering from gale force winds in the west and north of Scotland.
It has been an exhausting period for Scottish aquaculture companies engaged, particularly on the west coast.
Last Friday, IntraFish reported on a rise in salmon prices, with the finger being pointed at storms in Scotland as a contributing factor for reduced supply.
