Norwegian salmon farming giant Marine Harvest announced Thursday it plans to cut up to 100 jobs in Scotland Farming following a "recent business review."

The cut jobs may likely come from sites in Argyll, Inverness-shire and the Western Isles, so Western Isles MSP Alasdair Allan reached out to the salmon company on how many island jobs will be impacted and said Marine Harvest will give more details next week, according to Island News and Advertiser.

“Needless to say, Marine Harvest’s announcement today about job losses is unhappy news for many families across the west coast of Scotland," said Allan, according to the news site.
