This could in the worst case have consequences for Aker Biomarine’s krill investment.

The international periodical Nature recently ran a feature on its news page that a krill crisis could be looming in Antarctica, based on evaluations made by researchers Steve Nicole and Volker Siegel.

This was published at the same time as others, including Aker Biomarine and two other Norwegian companie,s are stepping up their investment in catches and production of meal and oil from krill in Antarctica.

Expectations are the October conference for the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), which manages fish resources in Antarctica, will be swayed by the alarm that is sounded.
