Intermarche-owned Scapeche, France’s largest fishing fleet, is investing in a new joint venture with the fishing cooperative Pecheurs d’Opale, in Boulogne-Sur-Mer, to build some new vessels.

The agreement was signed on April 14, and the new venture Scopale, will be led by Eric Gosselin, reported Mer et Marine.

Scopale intends to invest in modern and energy efficient vessels.

For each vessel, Scopale will be the majority shareholder and the skipper will be the minority shareholder.
