Smith told IntraFish she will work out of Colorado and Alaska for California-based Santa Monica Seafood.
Smith left Illinois-based Plitt after the company filed for bankruptcy protection last year. It has since emerged from bankruptcy with a new ownership group.
Santa Monica Seafood, as a family-owned and operated company for the past 71 years, is the largest specialty wholesale distributor of fresh and frozen seafood in the southwestern United States.
