Multiexport Foods placed seventh overall in the latest corporate social responsibility rankings released by Fundacion PROhumana, becoming the company in the food sector with the highest score in Chile.
Multiexport was honored for what the group called innovative company initiatives such as improving the education of 380 workers; training more than 7,000 employees between 2001 and 2006; and holding an "innovation show" to encourage workers to come forward with projects to enhance operations, something that was unprecedented in the salmon industry.
