IntraFish has published a list of the most profitable seafood companies in Europe.
The upper ranks were dominated by aquaculture companies, and the producers of farmed salmon distinguish themselves from the rest because they can deliver their fish all year and in the quantities required by the market.
Wealthy investors, who are constantly on the hunt for immature sectors with growth potential to invest their money in, realize salmon's advantage. The latest example is that of the American fund Franklin Resources, which recently bought into Pan Fish, where they now have 10 percent.
