Despite continued high harvest, Norwegian salmon spot prices averaged at NOK 30 (€3.8/$5.1) this week, increasing by NOK 3 (€0.38/$0.51) from last week.

IntraFish talked to six independent Norwegian players on Friday, and all six expect a good recovery of prices next week. This price rise has surprised many -- as it comes despite high volumes despite slaughtered in Norway.

There are not enough transport vehicles to accommodate the increased slaughter volumes, pushing up the prices, an exporter told IntraFish. Nordea analyst  Kolbjorn Giskeodegard believes the increase is due to higher demand and increased freezing.
