Ocean Quality North America, a subsidiary of Grieg Seafood and Bremnes Seashore joint venture Ocean Quality, on Wednesday announced it would begin operations next Monday.
The new operation, headquartered in Burnaby, BC, will sell a full range of whole and filleted Atlantic salmon from Canada, Norway and Scotland. In addition, the company will supply coho and organic salmon as well.
David Mergle will be managing director of the division.
Between production from Grieg and Bremnes, Ocean Quality has annual production capacity of 135,000 metric tons.
