A significant increase in slaughter volumes will see prices for Norwegian farmed salmon drop significantly in the upcoming week, IntraFish was told.
Exporters and farmers said prices already started falling this week, despite previous forecasts.
Slaughter volumes appear to rise further in the coming week, with one result: Prices will go down, agreed the sources IntraFish talked to.
However, prices differ slightly between the different sizes. Bigger sizes also see the biggest drop -- the slump may exceed NOK 5 (€0.63/$0.82) on average, compared to this week.
