Salmon prices have seen a significant price increase over the last week due to a lack of fish available combined with high Christmas demand, industry players told IntraFish.
Several players in the salmon industry IntraFish spoke to late on Friday afternoon report prices of between NOK 44 (€5.30/$7.20) and NOK 46 (€5.50/$7.50) for salmon over 3 kg in size.
The salmon spot prices are climbing following a combination of recent challenging weather conditions in Norway and demand mounting up for Christmas.
