Low volumes of larger sized salmon have resulted in prices above the NOK 50 (€5.60/$6.10) mark for next week, industry players told IntraFish Friday.
On the other hand, prices for the smallest fish are still hovering at a low level, they said.
“It's probably a bit expensive, but it is difficult to obtain fish for a slightly lower price,” one exporter told IntraFish.
“I think I've never bought at a higher price at this time of year and I'm a little wary. I think the price level will remain, but I do not think it will rise more now,” he said.
