Salmon prices galloping beyond NOK 40 mark

A number of Norwegian farmers and exporters IntraFishtalked to on Friday told a tale of prices well beyond the NOK 40 (€5.30/$6.90)mark, with fish sized 4+ kilograms fetching the best price.

"The price is up NOK 2 (€0.27/$0.35) (€0.27/$0.35) to NOK 2.50(€0.33/$0.43) (€0.33/$0.43) in cuts," one exporter said. "There is notenough fish in the market. I fear it is too high, and we will struggle to getleft out in the market."

Another exporter said gaps between different sized fish are"large."
