Exporters in a survey conducted by IntraFish said they would not be surprised if prices continue falling over the course of this week.
“The price has been deteriorating rapidly, and I’m not sure we’ve hit the bottom yet,” said Andreas Skarbo, salmon buyer for Norsk Sjomat.
Skarbo said mid-sized salmon -- between three and five kilos -- have seen the sharpest drop in prices, with plenty of unsold salmon left on the market.
For mid-sized salmon prices have fallen nearly NOK 5 (€0.63/$0.92)
