Salmon prices do a u-turn on lower volumes

After witnessing sharp falls over the past several weeks, Norwegian farmed salmon prices are on the rise once more.

As usually happens in May, prices are increasing sharply, and are up several kroner compared with last week, industry players told IntraFish.

This is primarily down to a lower harvest taking place this week, and the fact that there are only four harvesting days next week as well, because of the public holiday Labor Day taking place May 1.

IntraFish was told the following prices for this week:

• Sizes 3-4 kilograms – NOK 37 (€4.40/$4.70)
