It was a different story for traders of smaller fish, who disappointed by poor prices, have been sending stocks to freezer plants in large volumes.
Per Vidar Otten, a buyer and exporter at Norwell, said the average prices of fish between 3 and 6 kilos were up between NOK0.50- NOK 1 per kilo compared with the previous week.
This puts average salmon prices at NOK 22.50 (€2.18/$3.80).
“There are also a lot of larger sized fish being sent to the freezing plants, but at the end of the week it’s much easier to sell the fish,” Otten said.
