Norway has increased its exports of salmon to Vietnam by 150 percent this year. No one can explain why the sudden surge for exports, although it could be linked to the drop in Chinese trade.

Calculated in round weight, Norwegian salmon exports to Vietnam are up from 6,800 metric tons after 11 months last year to more than 17,000 metric tons this year.

The Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) is unable to provide a logical explanation.
