Norwegian salmon egg supplier Salmobreed more than doubled its revenue in 2014 compared with the previous year, primarily due to a new business model and a change in its billing method.
Turnover jumped to NOK 58.9 million (€6.7 million/$7.6 million) from NOK 28.3 million (€3.2 million/$3.6 million) in 2013.
Operating profit for the year amounted to NOK 6.5 million (€744,854/$834,821) last year as opposed to NOK 2.1 million (€240,645/$269,711) the previous year.
“The improved turnover is due to increased volume and higher prices fetched for the products, as well as certain changes in the business model towards the end of the year,” the firm's board of directors wrote in its annual report.
