The forecast for 2009 shows SalMar expects to slaughter 51,000 metric tons (gutted weight) in mid-Norway and 14,000 metric tons in north Norway.
Converted to round fish this makes for slaughter volume of 72,200 metric tons in 2009, an increase of more than 20 percent compared with slaughter volume for 2008, the company said Wednesday.
SalMar said it anticipates a solid increase from slaughtering at Scottish Sea Farms, which the company owns together with Lery Seafood Group. The increase here is from 25,300 metric tons (round weight) to 28,900 metric tons.
