The Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA) gave SalMar the go-ahead to expand capacity at one of its production sites to a maximum permitted biomass (MPB) of 7,020 metric tons.
SalMar is out after expanding capacity at its Solvaeret site at Smola, Nordmore from the current capacity of 5,460 metric tons to 7,020 metric tons.
Producers in Nordmore and Sor-Trondelag districts drew up a joint agreement that has applied since from Nov. 17, 2010 on zonal division for smolt release and laying fallow of production sites.
