United Kingdom Food Standards Agency (FSA) surveys of retail outlets across Britain released last week found 15 percent of salmon and between 10 percent and 11 percent of sea bass and sea bream sold as wild is actually farmed.

Sainsbury's and upscale retailer Harrod's were among the fish sellers found to be selling farmed salmon as wild, while sea bass advertised as wild by Wal-Mart-owned retailer Asda was also found to be farmed, according to BBC News.

FSA sampled 128 fish in total, using oil extracts to identify whether fish were wild-caught or farmed.
