“In the last year, we have sold 14 million Basics fish fingers. All of the fish in Basics fish fingers is MSC-certified and are made with sustainable palm oil,” a spokesman said.
Alaska pollock is the fish used in the product, IntraFish was told.
The supermarket is selling large quantities of regular fish fingers, with sales up 45 percent on 2007 figures.
Figures for the Taste the Difference range were not available.
The Basics fish fingers come in 250-gram packs of 10, and are £0.47
