According to preliminary data released by Russia’s Federal Statistic Service, Rosstat, the country’s total seafood imports in the first half of 2015 decreased 41 percent compared with the same period last year to 259,400 metric tons.

Frozen fish imports dropped 40 percent to 136,100 metric tons and accounted for the largest share of overall imports into the country, accounting for 52.5 percent of the total.

Fresh and chilled fish imports plummeted by 77.8 percent to 12,600 metric tons, comprising just 5 percent share of the total.

Crustaceans
