Russia's pollock catchers are expecting to see a jump of domestic demand for their products in 2016, taking into account a number of different factors.

"We expect domestic demand for pollock in 2016 will rise in the wake of the measures Russia’s federal fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo and the federal government as a whole, which declared its support to the fish processing sector," Ilya Vlasenko, corporate communications director at Russian Fishery Company, told IntraFish.

Russia's federal government has ambitious plans for the development of its Far East areas, including the creation of territories for priority development in Primorye.
