Russian salmon inspections to start June 11

The inspections of 25 Norwegian fresh fish exporters to Russia will start on June 11, a spokesperson for the Russian veterinary agency Rosselkhoznadzor told IntraFish.

“Each plant will be inspected once, and later on the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA) will check all of them on a regular basis,” Alexey Alexeyenko said.

The inspections will be carried out by both Rosselkhoznadzor and NFSA, and “possibly” also by officials from Kazakhstan and Belarus, which are part of a customs union with Russia, he said.
