Russian pollock groups are set to increasingly process and freeze their catch at sea, said German Zverev, the chairman of the Russian Pollock Association (PCA).
“I am sure that the trend of [at-sea] processing growth in Russia will continue, and [the] output of sea frozen fillets will grow,” Zverev told IntraFish. “Several new trawlers equipped for fillet production are scheduled to launch this year."
One of these is a 100-meter trawler currently trialled by the fishing group Preobrazhenie Base Of Trawling Fleet (PBTF) in the Sea of Okhotsk.
The
