Norwegian seafood exports improved 3 percent in value year-on-year during August. While salmon exports remained largely unaffected by the Russian import ban, herring and trout felt the pinch.

Norwegian producers raked in NOK 4.8 million (€591,259/$764,837) in export sales in August this year, according to the most recent figures by the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC). 

This is a jump of NOK 157 million (€19.3 million/$25 million), or 3 percent, compared to the same month last year. So far this year, seafood exports totaled NOK 42.4
