In a letter to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA), Russian veterinary service Rosselkhoznadzor asked for information about cod and halibut farming in Norway.
The letter, which is addressed to Harald Gjein, managing director of NFSA, asked for information on Norwegian farms engaged in farming salmon and trout, plus information on actual farms that are commodity suppliers for Norwegian enterprises exporting to Russia.
The letter pointed out that according to information at hand, farming of cod and halibut is also practiced in Norway, and the Russian side has requested information on farmed cod and halibut that is exported to Russia.
