Russia's veterinary authority says it has warned Vietnam over the safety of its pangasius exports as it temporarily blocks imports from one exporter.
All imports of frozen pangasius from Hung Vuong are temporarily blocked as of May 28, a spokesperson from the Russian veterinary agency Rosselkhoznadzor told IntraFish.
Russia accounted for 5 percent Hung Vuong's exports in 2011.
The Rosselkhoznadzor spokesperson said the agency had expressed its dissatisfaction over the safety of pangasius imports from Vietnam to the Vietnamese National Fisheries Quality Assurance and Veterinary Directorate (NAFIQAVED).
