Russian fishermen caught 870,000 metric tons of pollock in the season A pollock fishery running from Jan. 1 to April 9, according to the Russian Pollock Catchers’ Association.
This represents 51.8 percent of the total allowable catch (TAC) of 1,679,180 metric tons for 2013.
In the Sea of Okhotsk catch increased by 12,150 metric tons to 778,610 metric tons (84.6 percent of TAC of 920,000 metric tons), including 276,140 metric tons in the North Sea of Okhotsk fishing zones and 501,600 metric tons in the Kamchatka-Kuril and West Kamchatka zones.
