Dobroflot holding, the largest canned fish producer in the Russian Far East, started production of cans and preserves from Pacific sardines, well-known in Russia as Picton herring.
The output is carried out on board the floating processor Vsevolod Sibirtsev. Raw material is supplied by the company's own vessels fishing off the Southern Kurils using purse seines.
“Our catchers had been searching for clusters of sardine for more than half a month and a few days ago finally found them," Dobroflot CEO Alexander Efremov told IntraFish.
